FAQs
2012-2013

What time can I drop my child off at school in the morning?

School hours are from 8:00 to 3:20.  The school building is open for student drop off at 7:30 a.m.  Please do not bring your child earlier than 7:30 a.m. since no one will be on duty to supervise.

Where can I park when I take my children to school or pick them up after school?

Please park in the gray (curb) area only.  DO NOT park or turn around in our neighbors paved yards as that is private property. The blue area is for student drop off and pick up and is not to be used as a parking area.  Absolutely no parking in the green section as it is designated a bus zone area.  Remember, the red curb is designated for Emergency Vehicles only.

What should I do if my child is unable to attend school due to illness or family emergency?

When your child is ill or not able to attend school, please call 689-1790 to report the absence.  Try to contact the school prior to 10:00 am.

What if I can’t pick up my child from school and want to change the usual arrangements?

We would prefer you take care of this before the school day begins. Calling during the day to leave a message for your child tends to disrupt the learning process.  Inform your child’s teacher or office of the change, preferably before noon.

What procedures should I follow if I want to send medicine to school for my child?

Medication must be provided by the parent, along with a written request, and be in the original, properly labeled container.  Please consult with the school nurse regarding medication (prescription and nonprescription).

How do I know what clothing my child is allowed to wear to school?

Be sure you refer to your Student-Parent Handbook for specifics.  A reminder that spaghetti straps and halter tops are not allowed for girls.  Also, shorts, dresses and skirts when measured with student standing may not be more than 3 inches from the kneecap.  Boys’ undergarments (i.e. white T-shirts and tanks) may not be worn as outerwear.

Would it be o.k. if my child takes a cell phone to school in case they need to contact me?

Students are not permitted to use cell phones inside the school building during regular hours.   Cell Phones must be kept in their backpacks, lockers or in the office.  Please refer to Student Code of Conduct for more information
