  • At the Texas Youth and Government Conference 22 students participated in the Legislature, County Court (Judicial) and media. Braden Alford (11th grade) wrote a bill, an act to reduce property tax by ten percent for those who use solar power as their primary source of power and declaring an emergency.

It was passed in both houses and signed by the youth Governor into law. He was selected by his peers as a distinguished delegate in the House of Representatives. Anuj Mocherla (11th grade) sponsored Braden's bill in the Senate and was also selected by his peers as a distinguished delegate in the Senate.
