READ 180® is a research-based reading intervention program designed to raise the reading levels and test scores of struggling readers in grade three through twelve. For struggling readers, the inability to read and write often results in feelings of low self-esteem and lack of motivation. READ 180 directly addresses individual needs using customized instructional software, high-interest fiction and non-fiction books, and systematic direct instruction in reading skills, vocabulary, writing and grammar.
Selected students spend 90 minutes with me daily as we rotate through this centered based program. Extensive research with thousands of students has shown that READ 180 is dramatically effective in restoring students' self-esteem and getting them back on track to reading at grade level (Scholastic, READ 180 Teacher Implementation Guide, 2009). |
