 Welcome to First Grade!!!
 
I would like to welcome you to a fun and exciting year in first grade.  My name is Mrs. Jennifer Mendoza.  I am beginning my 12th year of teaching and my 9th here at Scharbauer.  I graduated from Sul Ross State University with a degree in Elementary Education specializing in Early Childhood.  I live in Midland with my husband Miguel, 9-year-old daughter Claudia, and my 5-year-old daughter Iliana.
 
I am delighted to have your child in my class this year!  I am looking forward to a very successful year, and I know you are too.  I have high expectations for your child, and I will be doing all that I can to help them achieve these expectations. 
 
I want you to know that one of my goals this year is to keep the lines of communication open with you.  Please feel free to contact me anytime that you need to.  You may call the office at 689-1860, e-mail me at jennunez@midlandisd.net, or write me a note.  I am available to talk with you during my conference period 11:30-12:15 or from 3:20-3:30.  Thank you for being my partner in your child's education.  Working together, we will provide the social, emotional, and intellectual support that your child needs.
