The mission of the Midland Senior High Library is to provide students and staff intellectual and physical access to ideas and empower them to become successful effective users of information and to foster a love of reading and literature.
 
The goals of the Midland Senior High Library are:
     to promote the enjoyment of literature and encourage 
          reading for pleasure
     to support and enrich curriculum
     to provide access to quality information in all formats
     to teach and reinforce strategies necessary to locate and
         evaluate information that will enable patrons to be come
          lifelong learners
     to promote collaboration within the learning community.
 
Our library has over 25,000 items available for both teachers and students. The comprehensive Reference section contains a variety of materials. We subscribe to over 100 magazines for teachers and students including Business Week, Career World, Foreign Affairs, House Beautiful, Newsweek, People en Espanol, Prevention, Sports Illustrated, Teen Vogue and US Weekly. Four newspapers are available: Midland Reporter Telegram, Odessa American, USA Today, Washington Post Weekly. Teachers may check out equipment for classroom use, and utilize other equipment located in the library.

As teachers trained in information literacy skills, we offer our assistance in working with your students on research skills, using materials in the library, and using databases for Internet research.

We have over 50 computers which may be utilized by faculty and students. They contain programs which allow students and teachers to create presentations, documents, and allow for extensive research.

The library is open:

Monday-Wednesday: 7:30-4:15
Thursday: 7:30-6:00
Friday: 7:30-4:15
